This was taken at the Springdale track early am. Used the updated version of the mediachance hdr on the pc. Liked the orton finish.

gnarly tree on Park Ave.
Love the way this looks on the black background.
I swear I have a full years worth of editing left on these Utah pics!

pink rose...macro
Love the macro, love the landscapes, love the nature shots. The telephoto one out. I'll be getting my first f2.8 lens next week....Can't wait!
This was taken with my current 200mm...I'll be getting the new vr2.
Once I recover from that expenditure I can save for the 105mm f2.8

budding photographer
Had a great time shooting wth my grandson today....He only took 619 images.
He has a good eye considering he doesn't stay totally focused. There is definitely something to be said for being low to the ground.

peering through a window
I don't usually like to put more than 1 a day up on the blog but couldn't resist this one. It isn't a black and white but the colors presented that way.
self portrait....RARE
You'll never catch me wanting to be in a picture never mind doing a posed self portrait.
However, I figured the day was gray and the light not lending to anything too great so....Here it is.

waves on rocks
I really like the way these rocks led into the houses on the point. Looking forward to getting my f2.8 glass soon....I'll go with the 105 first for macro and then the 200mm and start taking a few more horse and action photos.
For some reason the extreme sports, kayak, climbing, skiing, bmx etc seem to be calling me.

water against rocks
Took a nice walk along Marginal Way...It was cold and blustery but the clam 'Chowda' at the end was well worth it.
2 leaves on rock
Take me away! The rushing waters and windy, blustery day didn't seem to bother these 2 leaves that found a home on this rock. Having a great, relaxing couple days before the kids and the grands come. can't wait!
We all need to remember and be Thankful for how important family is.

gnarly tree
This was another Moab shot.
Going to Maine to be with the kids and grands this week coming up to spend Thanksgiving. Cannot wait.
The kids grow so damn fast.
I'll be posting some new and different photos and am looking forward to it. Also going to be getting a macro 105mm lens soon.

Morning Glory Cluster
What a pleasant surprise to walk out the door and start each day by looking at these flowers. They have been a favorite of mine since I can remember.

delicate arch light painted
The Delicate Arch in Moab was light painted by the instructors of the Mountain High Workshops.
This was taken in the dark after a nice sunset.
We tried all kinds of different photography during the week.
I am so looking forward to the time that everything is right and I can go semi pro. Still have a ton to learn but it is the most fun learning something that I have had in a long time.
Don't worry clients...I'm not giving up the day job!

My Rental Car
I really liked the perspective on this shot. It was also a good little car to get me through a couple of pretty bad (small) storms on the way back to the airport.
Had a great trip and am looking forward to getting home.

mountain view on side road
I took this on my drive back to salt Lake City from Moab. Couldn't pass this up. It was also a time for major reflection on how thankful I am for where I am in life and the wonderful things that are available to us here in the states!
